Parent Cyber Safety Night

This term our students are learning about how to live a safe and healthy life. To support this, in STEM students are learning about technology; how to be safe with it and what ways to healthily use technology.

We have organised a Parent Cyber Safety Night, run by the Alannah and Madeline Foundation, called ‘Parenting in the Digital World – Strategies to Help.’

Audience:  Adults – Parents/Carers

Description: This workshop will provide insight into the online worlds of young people including the latest trends, risks and research, and include a strong focus on social media. It also focuses on advice parents can use to help manage a child’s life online.

Outcomes:

Parents/carers will develop an understanding of the appeal of social media and how to support young people to stay safe.

Parents/carers will know where and how to report inappropriate content and how best to support young people who are experiencing harm.

Parents/carers will be equipped with the latest research regarding online behaviours.

This night will be held in Learning Centre 2 on Wednesday 4th September from 7pm to 8pm, for all parents, however we ask that no children attend the night. We hope you can make it.

Please Help!

This year all of the students at OLSC were lucky enough to go on an excursion to the Werribee Zoo. What most students and our community didn't know was that it happened because of initiatives and grants that were applied for and we were lucky enough to receive.

Next Telstra Kids grant round
