Where are they now?

It’s hard to believe that it's been 30 years since we left school. Unlike most of my peers, I went to work for a year straight after I finished school in an entry level role in Human Resources(HR) at BP. Over 25 years later and I was still there. Whilst at BP, I completed my Business Administration degree part-time and got to work in a number of different countries. Sac girls are everywhere and BP was no exception with Nat Elms (O’Neill), Fiona Bull (Scanlon), Suzie Bailey (Wiggins), Alison Bennell (Adair), and Linda Grace (Fisicaro) all having worked there too. Work also afforded me the opportunity to live in Perth (2.5 years) and London (4 years) where there were Sac girls aplenty.

Since 2016, I have been consulting and contracting for various organisations in Human Resources and change management. I am also the President of a not-for-profit animal welfare organisation called Loki’s Lodge who care for and/or re-home rural animals who have been surrendered. Click here for more information including details of Open Days –  with over 120 animals at our farm it’s a great day out for kids and grown ups alike.

I’m an Aunty to Molly (17), Ruby, (14) and Tom (12) and a godmother of three. I’m also a single mum to three fur children, Priscilla the cat and two dogs, Lenny and Rani. I had a  great  time at Sac and still love catching up with my old school friends whenever we can – it's always so easy and feels like no time has passed at all.

Alexandra Naughton (2009)

After eight wonderful years at Sac, it was time to walk down the Dorrington driveway for the last time in November 2009. I decided to study Marketing at Monash, mostly because I thought I would get to watch funny ads the whole time.

After graduating, I spent two years in FMCG before moving over to EY in the Advisory practice as a Graduate. The last five years at EY has had me spending time working on projects including large IT system implementations, customer experience improvement programs with car companies (including a few stints in New Zealand) and more recently reviewing, developing and improving programs in Australian Government. I have been privileged to work on some of the most critical issues for Australia (drought, disability support, child protection, regional economies).

I have also developed a passion for women in sport, particularly grassroots women’s AFL. I have become the Secretary at the MCC FC, a women’s only club in Beaumaris. We have been lucky enough to bring a number of the Sac Kangaroos back from retirement, including Eliza Brebner Griffin, Scarlett Howard and Sarah Hamilton. Despite my boots now getting dusty on a shelf, I am still down at the club, ready to cheer the girls on. The joy of seeing women play footy, when just a short time ago it wasn’t readily available, is something that will never get old.

Some of my favourite memories at Sac included; eating Isabelle Nesbit’s lunch before she had a chance, being on the track and field team and not running a single race and; managing to make lifelong friends.
