Year 7 - 12 Athletics Carnival

The Year 7 - 12 Athletics Carnival was held in September and was an amazing display of team spirit and sportsmanship.

Unwin House won the day but all our Houses put in a great effort to make the day a success.

A special congratulations to Chase Clark, who broke the 400-metre Open Boys Track record that was set in 1958 by an alumni named J. Blythe. This record has stood for 61 years so to break it is a huge achievement!

Congratulations to Gabriel Yannarakis, Oliver White and Sam Castle who gained 1st place in the Tasmanian All Schools Cross Country Team event at Symmons Plains for Under 12 Boys.

Our Year 8 Boys Basketball team competed in the Southern Regional High School Basketball Championships, Division 2.

They won two games and lost two against much more experienced players, showing excellent team spirit throughout. Great work team!

A fantastic effort and a fun weekend was had.

Grade 8 Girls Win Touch Football Grand Final

A fabulous season-long performance from a group of Grade 8 girls who are really starting to grow as a team. Considering their relative inexperience compared to most other teams in the comp, The Friends' School Grade 8 girls timed their run to the Grand Final with absolute perfection, coming from behind, against a well-drilled and previously undefeated McKillop College team to triumph 3-2.

Everybody, without exception, brought their best game and gave 100%. Well done girls.
