TCE / IB Clemes Art Exhibition
The TCE/IB Art Exhibition was opened by local photographer, Rosie Hastie, on Thursday 7 November. There were so many amazing works on display that showed so much hard work and dedication that it was very difficult to pick a winner for the 2019 Creative Arts Prize. However, a winner must be chosen and this year the award was given to Milly Crombie, whose portraits of "the every-day person" showed real skill and beauty.
Thank you to all who were involved in the set up of this event and to all the students who bravely showed their work for us.
The Bee Musical (Year 2)
Our talented Year 2 students put on a beautiful performance at the end of November all about the importance of bees.
The story is set around Grumble Bee, who feels unimportant and small, however, we all find out just how important bees are for the ecosystem and Grumble Bee helps the world to see this.
The Year 2 teachers, students and the very talented Suzie Gillespie all worked very hard to bring this spectacular performance to life.
RACT Tasmanian Portrait Prize 2019
Two of our Year 12 Art students, Millie Crombie and Laura Johnson, have works entered into this year's RACT Tasmanian Portrait Prize.
Millie's work, titled "Mickey" is one of a set of portraits that Millie has painted this year of the workers at St Vincent Industries rag factory.
Laura's work, titled "Head Girl" is of her friend and classmate (and Friends' Head Girl 2018) Charlie Potter. Laura says that this painting is a tribute to the strength of women.
2019 Dance Showcase
Our students showed off all their hard work and talent at the annual Dance Showcase, held last Friday night. The showcase was a spectacular display of athleticism, creativity and funky moves.
