Year 12 News

End of Year Events

Thank you to those parents and students who attended the information session about the four events for the end of year: Final Day, Exams, Graduation and Senior Final Assembly. If you missed this session then information packs are able to be collected from the Senior School Office. Also, there are events on Compass for approval and payment for the Final Day Activities and the Graduation.

Attendance

It is very important that students are in class to communicate with teachers about where they are at and what their next step is, whether that be a make-up tasks so they can pass the subject, or practice exams and revision to support getting the best result possible.

Results

A reminder to parents that if a student fails an assessment throughout the semester then they will not pass that semester (and therefore the year of that subject) unless they communicate with their teacher about a make-up task and demonstrate the knowledge and skills of that course. Parents can check if any assessments have been failed by looking for an “N” (Not Satisfactory) results in any of the learning tasks for each subject on Compass.

Exams

As students work towards the date of their exams, a reminder that resources such as peers, staff and practice exams are invaluable. An important part of practice exams is the improvement after having done it via the feedback that comes after doing it and then marking it (or having it marked). The more practice equals the more likely a good result will be.

We look forward to seeing parents and students at the end of year events to celebrate the milestone of completing secondary school.

Sincerely,

Senior School Team
