Year 7 SEAL Places 2019

Due to changed circumstances, Warrnambool College has space for a maximum of TWO students who would like to be considered for the current Year 7 SEAL program. SEAL is a program for the top academic 5 to 10% of students. Research has consistently documented that these students learn best when placed with their intellectual peers. At Warrnambool College we aim to enable gifted students to explore depth and breadth in their learning, working alongside others who are also gifted.

Selection criteria for consideration into the program include school-based testing in English and Mathematics, the latest school reports and feedback for current classroom teachers. Additionally, we require written motivation from both the student and their parent/ guardian as to why the student should be considered for the program.

Application forms are found via this link or on Compass newsfeed. Additional pages may be used for the testimonials if required. Completed forms must be submitted to the Warrnambool College general school office no later than 12th June 2019.

There is no guarantee that both places will be filled. Selected student/s will be provisionally placed in the 7G class for two weeks, with a final decision made by the end of Term 2. The final selection of the student/s will be with made by the Assistant Principal and SEAL coordinator responsible for the SEAL program.
