The program will be run during Week 9 of Term 2: from Monday 15rd June to Friday 19thJune 2015, and will be available to Year 10 students across NSW.

The program will allow students to experience engineering projects firsthand across six areas of the civil and environmental engineering field, namely:

· Coastal and Port Infrastructure

· Structures and Design

· Construction and Project Management

· Water, Wastewater and Environment

· Road, Transport and Geotechnical      Engineering

· Surveying and Geospatial Engineering.

Daily field trips will be led by UNSW CVEN staff supported by engineering professionals to a range of engineering sites across Sydney, followed by an afternoon debrief and short report writing session at the UNSW Kensington campus. Students selected for the program will be required to meet daily at 8.50am, at Central Station, with each day of the program finishing at approximately 4pm at UNSW. Students must attend the full five day program. UNSW CVEN is interested in receiving applications from students who are self-motivated, reliable, punctual, and who have a strong mathematical ability. Importantly, students must have an interest in pursuing a career in engineering. Please note that interested students must be confident in using public transport, and that suitable clothing (for outdoors and appropriate to weather conditions) and enclosed footwear will be a requirement.

APPLYING FOR A TAX FILE NUMBER

The Australian Tax Office has changed the process for students applying for a Tax File Number (TFN). Schools are no longer able to process TFN application forms!

The new process involves students completing an online application form and then visiting an Australia Post Office outlet to have their identity verified.

To apply for a TFN students need to visit

After they have completed this form students will need to print their application summary and take this together with proof of identity documents to an Australia Post outlet. This must be done within 30 days of completing the online form.

Information on the type of Proof of Identity documents that can be used can be found at
