Meet Your Plenty Campus Primary School Captains

By Jaynaya Fantone, Year 6, Plenty Campus

My name is Jaynaya Fantone and I’m delighted to be one of your Primary School Captains for 2022. I live in Doreen with my parents and my brother Jobe, who is in Year 3.  I have a dog called Scruffy and my brother has a cat called Feathers.

I stand up for what I believe in and I am great at working in a group. I listen to other people’s ideas, not just my own. I value family time. My hobbies include basketball, knitting, riding my scooter, riding my bike, running, swimming, playing with my dog, and chatting with my friends and family.

I’m looking forward to a new year after two years of lockdown. I’ve been at Ivanhoe since prep and I know the school community well. My goal as School Captain is to rebuild school spirit after the lockdowns of previous years. I love to chat, so you can always say hi to me in the yard if you're having a bad day.

This term we are focusing on the Ivanhoe Learner Attribute - Ethicality. I encourage you all to be friendly and inclusive to each other. We are all fortunate to have an Ivanhoe education so it is up to each of us to build an inclusive culture that can be felt by everyone on campus and those we interact with in the broader community outside the school grounds.

Along with my fellow Year 6 leaders, I wish you all a safe year ahead and I am excited to see us all coming back together.

My name is Raymun and I am one of the 2022 Primary Captains. I have been at Ivanhoe since Year 1 and have always wanted to have a leadership position. As a School Captain, I hope to fulfil the Ivanhoe Learner Attributes to the fullest and lead by example to the younger members of this school, and become a role model.

Now let me tell you a bit about myself. I have a brother, who is in Year 11. He and I love playing soccer. We both started playing from a very young age and have been enjoying the sport since then. We both play for clubs and one day aspire to become professional soccer players (my favourite player is Lionel Messi). I also have two amazing parents. They are my role models and they both have shaped me into who I am. I love my family and I don’t know what I’d do without them.

Other than playing soccer, another hobby I have is reading. I just love books and how they take you into another world. But I hadn't always loved books. Before the age of six, I thought they were boring. But when I discovered the Harry Potter series I quickly fell in love with them. To this day I have read hundreds of books, and they are a big part of my life.

I am so looking forward to the rest of the year as a leader of Ivanhoe Grammar School and hope to become the best leader I can possibly be and become a young person of character.
