Camerata Competition

Musicians from Years 7 to 12 are busily preparing for the annual Camerata Competition, which is being held next Friday 18 March. The Camerata Concert, which features these soloists, will be held on Friday 6 May, in the DPA – please make a note in your diary to come along and listen to our wonderful musicians!

Music Camp

We are excited that Music Camp is fast approaching and are looking forward to three days of rehearsals with orchestra, concert band, chamber strings and stage band.  Information has been sent to families of students in these ensembles and registration is now due. 

Onstage and Encore Virtual Performances

Drama and Music students from Years 9 to 12 all have upcoming pizza and performance evenings in the next few weeks.  Information has been sent to families and registration for these events is now due.

Encore for Music students: Thursday 17 March in the PT 5:30pm to 7:30pm

OnStage for Drama students: Thursday 24 March in the PT 5:30pm 

Orange Chamber Music Festival – Piano Masterclass

Kinross Wolaroi School is hosting a piano masterclass on 1 April, as part of Orange’s annual Chamber Music Festival.  Piano students are invited to watch this masterclass for free; participants in the class will be advanced piano students from across Orange. Further information to follow.

Orange Winter Jazz Festival – Save the Date

Stage band have been invited to play at this year’s Winter Jazz Festival on Friday 10 June, 6pm.  Please save the date – more details to follow!

Absence from Ensemble Rehearsals

As a courtesy to our ensemble directors, please ensure any planned absences are emailed to performingarts@kws.nsw.edu so they can be passed on to the relevant director. We understand booking appointments can be a logistical battle for families, but we do appreciate it if rehearsal times can be avoided where possible. 

Congratulations to Miss Howarth

Congratulations are due to the wonderful Miss Howarth who recently announced her engagement.  Staff of the Performing Arts Department wish both Katherine and Andrew every happiness.
