Teaching and Learning

Our First 3 Weeks of Learning

It has been such a wonderful start to 2022.

Our students have already taken part in a range of amazing learning activities over the first 3 weeks.

Foundation

Our Foundation students are currently attending Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

On Wednesdays, the Foundation teachers are meeting with individual students to assess their learning needs to start their schooling life. The students have settled so well into their classrooms and have been learning about the daily routine of school and making many new friends.

Level 1 and 2

Our Level 1 and 2 children have taken part in the Start Up program in the first two weeks, learning to collaborate, work as a team and set up the class expectations, so that everyone can learn in a positive and productive atmosphere. The Reader's and Writer's workshops have commenced for the year and already we have seen fabulous mathematical learning.

Level 3 and 4

Level 3 and 4 have commenced the year with the Start Up program and are now settling into a productive year of learning. For the first time, our Level 3 students have joined our Level 4 students taking part in the Digital Technologies program, run by Mr Ryan Evans. To commence this program, students have been learning about MBots and visual block coding.

Level 5 and 6

Our Level 5 and 6 students have taken part in water safety programs over the last two weeks. Both levels explored the various aspects of water safety including life-saving and self-awareness while having fun in the water. Level 6 attended Hampton Lifesaving Club and Level 5 attended Aquanation.

In Digital Technologies, students have been exploring the new LEGO Spike Essentials system that the school received as a prize after taking part in the Modern Teaching Aids innovative unit of work competition, created by Mr Ryan Evans.

Students arriving late to school must be accompanied by a parent and signed in

A reminder that students arriving late to school, must be accompanied to the school office by a parent and signed in at the Compass kiosk by the parent.

Students are not permitted to sign themselves in when arriving late. If a student arrives late that is not accompanied, parents will receive an unexplained absence note via the Compass Parent Portal.
