Digitech

It's been a fabulous start back in Digitech with not only Levels 4, 5 and 6 taking part, but also a big welcome to Level 3, too. Level 3 and 4 have made a great start with coding our MBots, and Level 5 and 6 have begun exploring the brand new LEGO Spike Essential and BricQ Motion kits!

At the end of 2021, an opportunity was presented to enter a competition with Modern Teaching Aids, an education supplier, to write a unit of work utilising this new system. Our initial idea managed to get us into the top 10, where we received a kit to then flesh out the lesson into a detailed series of lessons. The final unit I submitted was entitled "Lego Maestros" and blended engineering, digital technology and music into an engaging 6 lesson series. Amazingly, we were a joint winner with Allen Dickson from Belgrave Heights Christian School! Our school received a fantastic prize of $5000 worth of LEGO Spike Essential and BricQ Motion kits, as well as earning the title of LEGO Education Brand Ambassador, giving me the opportunity to represent both our school and MTA at events, conventions and in a variety of other projects throughout the year. I'm incredibly excited about the role, and it's just fantastic to see our students already thoroughly enjoying these new kits!

A massive thank you to MTA for running such a competition. What a fantastic opportunity to be able to be a part of and for Rangeview to benefit so greatly from! I'm really looking forward now to running the unit of work with our Level 3 and 4 students soon!
