Lauren Hassing - Year 12 College Captain

Why did you want to be a College Captain? 

I wanted to be a college captain to give something in return to the school for all of the opportunities and memories it has given me in all my years at the college!

What is something you love about Heathmont College?

I love the community feel at Heathmont and how it is so easy to have conversations and interactions with not only other peers but teachers too!

What subjects are you doing this year? What are your interests outside of school?

This year I am currently doing English, Further Mathematics, Health and Human Development, Biology and Physical Education (one of my favourites!). I also completed Psychology last year and absolutely fell in love with it!

Outside of school I like to spend time with my friends and family and share moments with them. I also love my sport and play basketball twice a week. I used to do athletics which for sure is my favourite sport!  :)

What are your plans for when you finish Year 12?

At the end of Year 12 I would really love to travel overseas somewhere and travel in general for a bit. In 2023 I would also like to begin further studies at university to pursue my dreams of teaching!

Don't get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.

What is something you’d like to accomplish as a Captain?

As a college captain I would really love to help create opportunities for student voice and student led events!
