YEAR 12 GRADUATION MASS

On Thursday evening we celebrated our Year 12 Graduation Mass. Our Eucharistic Liturgy calls our Year 12 Students to go forth into the world carrying the light of Christ in their hearts and minds, which is reflective of our theme, You are the Light of the World. The bond of love and friendship these students have built together will continue beyond Mater Dei Catholic College and will be an ever important part of their lives in the future. The Liturgy included a beautiful Candle Ceremony whereby the Students received a Candle from House Leader, assembling in front of the Community as the class of 2019, to receive a blessing before venturing off into their post-School lives. It was a very emotive and beautiful experience to see our students gather together for this poignant moment in their lives.

YEAR 12 CATHOLIC STUDIES - SERVICE PROJECT

Mrs Walker's Year 12 Catholic Studies Class have been hard at work in the kitchen baking jam drops and choc chip biscuits for Wagga's most needy community members. These donations were well received by volunteers at Vinnies - Micah Hubb and the Wagga Wagga Care Van for distribution. The agencies remarked on the generous spirit and compassionate nature of our Mater Dei students and how willing they are to reach out to those who most need their support. Thank you to Mrs Walker and Mrs McCoullough for your support of our Catholic Studies class in this service project.

YEAR 8 REFLECTION DAY - 24 OCTOBER 2019

A Reflection Day for Year 8 Students has been scheduled for early next term, on Thursday 24 October, 2019. The day will involve a series of gender focused workshops, led by ‘Your Choicez’, designed to support students as they navigate our complex, digital world. Students will be engaged in workshops on site at the College, with David and Katie Kobler, throughout the day.

Please feel free to visit their websitefor further information.

A letter will be sent home to parents/carers and students early next term with further details. Students are encouraged to wear modest, appropriate casual clothing on the day.

END OF TERM PRAYER

We thank you Lord, for this term.

For the challenges, successes, and the joys and smiles on our children’s faces.

Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends in our upcoming holiday break.

Give us strength and courage to do what is right and support others to be witnesses of our faith.

Help us to appreciate what others do for us, to give time and effort to help others.

To be peacemakers in our family; managing competing interests with humility.

Keep us safe in our all our activities and adventures; give us good rest and good fun.

Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.

We thank you for the love of those in our community who care for each one of us.

May we always be conscious of your presence in our lives.

Amen
