Engagement and Wellbeing

A term well done - Thank you all!

Thank you to all of our wonderful students, parents, staff and wider community that have supported another fantastic term at Buninyong and Scotsburn. As always, we appreciate the support that we receive and would like to highlight a few key activities that have taken place this term.

Those being:

Grade 3 students successfully completing their first camp away from school at Queenscliff and learning independence, teamwork and environmental skills.

Our Prep team hosting many kinder visits to support transition and develop an understanding of the school environment.

Holding our annual Japanese theme day and building a strong cultural connection for our students.

Connecting our Scotsburn campus with Back Creek Farm and building a wonderful partnership for both parties.

Numerous academic and sporting successes:

ICAS student testing partially completed and students achieved well.

Our Young Authors were highly active over the term and have attended many workshops to build their craft.

Each of our year levels have focussed on a key inquiry and are embedding key learning from those inquiries.

Building reading structures in classes around the use of Fountas and Pinnell.

Success in athletics and basketball.

Running our canteen with great involvement from our parent community.

Continuing our Outside of School Hours Program (Base 1270) with great success and take up from the community.

Highlighting the great skill in our Performing Arts with the efforts of our Wakakirri team who competed in Bendigo.

Championing eSmart Awareness and correct device usage through cybersafety sessions, digital detox and classroom activities.

Continuing our Japan trip with great success and creating a long-lasting and memorable experience for our students.

Installing new flag poles to provide an equal acknowledgement of all parties in Australia’s history.

Holding another day of Celebrating learning that has taken place over the past 3 terms as part of showcasing the wonderful work our students are completing.

Colour's Day this Friday

At Buninyong and Scotsburn, we hold a variation of this day called ‘Colours’ Day’. This is where the kids can come along in their favourite sporting team colours or simply their favourite colours for the day. All we ask is a gold coin donation that the classroom teachers will collect and we will send the funds directly to the ‘Fight Cancer Organisation’. Thank you and we can’t wait to see everyone in their favourite colours on the day.

B+ Team.

Fundraiser for Ballarat Animal Shelter

Bronte Jarvis and Aurelia Gibson from 4MM recently organised and ran a fundraiser for the Ballarat Animal Shelter. Their lolly Jar guessing game raised $74.50, which they presented to Kathy from the shelter on Tuesday the 10th of September. The money raised will go towards food and upkeep of the animals (who as you can see by the photos are very cuddly). Thank you to all those who had a guess and who donated to the cause. The winner was Mr Muldoon, with a guess of 225, only one off the actual total of 224. Fantastic effort Bronte & Aurelia! We're all very proud of you.
