Buddy Classes - Yr 8 & Yr 3
Here we have photos of our Year 3 and Year 8 students enjoying Buddy Class activities together.
Students head to Outer Space
On Thursday 5 March 2020, the Enrichment Group had the opportunity to participate in a unique educational experience by visiting the Hamilton Secondary College Space School.
We begun our immersive, hands-on learning experience with a session in the briefing room where students watched an introductory video about some of the issues that they need to overcome in moving humans to Mars.
Students then role played space scenarios with teams taking turns to operate as astronauts dressed in full space suits collecting samples on the Mars surface, and scientists monitoring data and problem solving in Mission Control. The students gained a greater knowledge and deeper insight into Space and the planet Mars.

Music & Drama
If you are a member of a local group looking for our Secondary Choir to perform for church and/or community events, please email your request to Leah O'Rourke for consideration. Leah is looking for opportunities for students to be an active light out in the community.
Some examples are Community/Council fairs, events, Easter/Christmas services etc.
Leah is also inviting any interested parents to be a part of our ‘Performing Arts Support Group’ here at Tyndale. Those with children studying music or drama at Tyndale, or with a passion for costumes, sewing, painting, cooking, set design, lighting, sound, videography, playing an instrument or other hidden talents are welcome! Setting up, front of house and catering help will be needed to compliment student and teacher involvement. Ticket sales, program advertising and ‘supper’ are all great ways to raise additional funds for the music/drama program.
Plus we will appreciate all the help we can get preparing for our Drama and Music nights and the Tyndale Talent Showcase scheduled for Wednesday 23 September 2020 (Term 3)

More Year 7 Story Writing
In Week 1 the Year 7 English class took on the challenge of entering a Statewide 50 word story writing competition.
The topic chosen was “I wish...” Every participating class member was given a certificate to acknowledge their effort. In the last newsletter a few examples of their work were shared. Here’s a few more of their 50 word stories.
Quinn
I wish ...
I could feel the sand amongst my feet and see the
waves crashing on the sand as I hear my sister laughing. Only if I could hear my sister again, just one more time. I would hold her in my hands and kiss her goodnight one last time.
James
I wish ...
to become a doctor when I’m older, I want a stable job and to have a happy life. I wish that I can achieve everything I can do to be happy in the end. I wish Australia’s fires gets extinguished; I hope everyone is alright in the fires.
Tahlia
I wish…
That the world was happy, and no one was sad. There were no phones and no internet just people talking face to face. school was great no one gets bullied for their body or their family situations. So have courage and be kind no matter what happens.
Eden
I wish I could see the world around me.
My name is Henrietta and I am blind.
I just want to see. See the flowers I smell, see Mother`s face and the ocean, whose sound I just can’t get enough of.
I guess I will have to imagine them instead.
Toby
I wish ...
I could go on an Aeroplane. I wish I could go in a Bugatti. I wish could go to America. I wish I could go to The Gold Coast. I wish I could climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge. I wish I could visit the Lamborghini dealership in Adelaide.
and Others
I wish …
That I could fly. That I could flitter and flutter like a butterfly. That I could soar through the sky like a bird. That I could touch the clouds with my fingers. That my eyes could see things only imagined. My mind amazed. My smile never ending.
I wish …
That I had infinite money what would I do with it is I would donate give to the poor and give it to the council so they can make better playgrounds and stuff like that and I would give some to my family once I’ve done that.

NAPLAN
NAPLAN is a national assessment of students in Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 and all eligible students are expected to participate. NAPLAN is a snapshot of students’ abilities in reading, writing, numeracy and language conventions and the consistent assessment can provide data for the nation and individual schools to develop their curriculum and pedagogy. This year NAPLAN will be conducted online for Years 5, 7, 9 and Year 3 Numeracy, Language Conventions and Reading. The Year 3 Writing test will still be completed on paper. NAPLAN testing will be conducted between the 12 May and 22 May, 2020.
In preparation, teachers are familiarising students with the online platform and test conditions. We also have a Nationally Coordinated Practice Test on the 23 March 2020. This is an opportunity for all schools to test the online platform and resolve any issues prior to the live testing in Term 2.
Should you have any concerns or queries regarding NAPLAN please contact Jessica Leslie at JessicaLeslie@tyndale.sa.edu.au for Primary and Narelle Kluge at NarelleKluge@tyndale.sa.edu.au for Secondary. We are more than happy to discuss ways we can support students through the experience.
