Student Wellbeing

Welcome Back
The Wellbeing Team would like to welcome our Tyndale families both new and old to a new year and take the opportunity to explain our role in the school community.
The Wellbeing Team is here to support students, their families and teachers as they attend Tyndale. We support the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing of our students and count it a privilege to serve the school community.
To improve practice and increase availability, we have had some changes to our team:
School Counsellors – Elona and Sue serve as the counsellors in our team. We both have counsellor qualifications and experience working in schools. We thoroughly enjoy working with students and their families.
Elona Koop is on site Mondays and Tuesdays and Sue Chapman is on site Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Graeme Klix is our School Chaplain and will be at the school every Monday and alternate Thursdays to support students and staff spiritually.
We would like to welcome Kiowa Logan to our team as our new school nurse. Kiowa comes with vast nursing experience and will be a part of the admin team as well as working closely with the Wellbeing Team.
Students are encouraged to come and chat with us if they have any concerns relating to school, friendship or family issues and we are really happy for them to drop in to the Wellbeing Room (situated next to the IT office) or make an appointment through the front office or their home group teacher.
If you have an issue relating to your child that you wish to discuss with any of our team, please contact us through the front office, or by calling us on 8536 5454 or emailing us on WellbeingStrathalbyn@tyndale.sa.edu.au .
We are happy to chat, meet with you or answer emails where possible. Our role is to support families in their parenting and to support students as they navigate school and life. We also refer families to outside services, provide education about online resources and have fact sheets and a parent library for families to access. We look forward to a new year at Tyndale and hope to meet many of you throughout the year.
Sue Chapman and Elona Koop.
