Construction Works on Geelong Road

As part of the construction works occurring on the Geelong Road Pedestrian Bridge, concrete pouring will be occurring on Thursday 12 March 2020.

On the morning of 12 March, concrete trucks will be queuing along the Princes Highway Service road from approximately 6am – 12pm midday while they wait to pour. Access via the service road will still be maintained, however due to the increase traffic from the concrete trucks, it is that recommended that we minimalise usage  and the Ormond Road entrance.

Big Day Out

Tomorrow we  celebrate Catholic Education Week with our Big Day Out: Combined Schools Celebration.

We, along with children from St Augustine's and Annunciation Primary Schools, will celebrate  Mass at St Augustine’s Church at 10:30am. Following Mass, the children will have an early lunch (BYO) and then we will walk across to the Sun Theatre for a movie afternoon.

Our Year Prep - 2 children will watch Farmageddon-Shaun the Sheep (G)

And our Year 3-6 children will get to see Jumanji 2.

If you have any concerns regarding your child watching Jumanji, which has a PG rating, please advise your child’s teacher THIS WEEK so that alternative arrangements can be made.

The children will be supplied with a Mini Popcorn Combo (popcorn and drink) to enjoy during their movie. If your child is unable to partake in these, please provide an alternative 'treat'.

Children are to wear their full summer school uniform (including hat) and are to bring along their lunch in a disposable bag and their water bottle, all clearly labelled. Senior children are to bring a small back pack.

We will have an early morning snack break at school prior to leaving. We will depart by bus from Corpus Christi at approximately 10:00am and return around 3:00pm.

  • Casual Clothes Day/Easter Raffle
  • On Wednesday 25th March, children are invited to wear casual clothes to school in return for an Easter egg donation on the day. These Easter egg donations will then be packaged as prizes for our annual Easter Raffle which is drawn after our Holy Week celebrations on the last day of Term 1. Please drop the Easter Eggs into the hall on your way into school.
  •
  • Today each family will  receive a book of raffle tickets to sell to family and friends. Tickets are $1.00 each. Please return raffle money to the office by Wednesday 25th  March. We are also looking for donations of cane baskets (or the like) to package our Easter egg prizes. These can be donated at any time and handed in at the school office.
  • Easter Egg Wrapping Morning
  • We will be holding an Easter Egg wrapping morning (to wrap all our raffle prizes) on Thursday 26th March in the hall from 1:30pm. If you are able to help, please meet Karen Thomas in the hall on the day. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Timetable Changes

Over the next few weeks our timetable will alter to allow teachers to plan extensively for Term 2. This however does NOT effect the days on which your child is to wear their sports uniform.

Years 1-6 Learning Conferences

Learning Conferences for Year 1 to 6  students have been scheduled for:

Wednesday 25th March, 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Please note that all children in Prep to Year 6 will be dismissed at 1:00 pm that day.

As the child is at the heart of everything we do we ask that all children attend the Learning Conferences with their parents.

We understand that at times, there may be a need to address matters that ‘aren’t meant for the child’s ears’ and we will certainly accommodate those needs towards the end of the appointment time.

We hope that the opportunity for all to take part in these Learning Conferences proves most beneficial. The meetings will be scheduled every 12 minutes. We understand that in some special cases a longer time will be required and if this is the case you are asked to make alternative arrangements with your class teacher.

Families are to use School Interviews Online to manage bookings. Please go to www.schoolinterviews.com.au and enter the event code of:   h62xd to book interviews for the times that suit your family.

Bookings are now open.

Open Mornings: School Tours

Our next Open Morning, specifically tailored for our Year Prep 2021 intake, will take place on  Tuesday 17th March.

Our Year 5/6 Leaders will be available to take new and existing families on school tours between 9:00 and 11:00 am.

Feel free to pass this information on to families you know who may be searching for a school for their child next year.

Camps, Sports and Excursion Fund (CSEF)

A reminder that families who hold a valid Health Care Card for the 2020 year are able to receive a government rebate through the Camp, Sports and Excursion Fund (CSEF) which is currently set at $125 per primary aged child.

Applications for the CSEF can be collected from the school office. We encourage families to submit these to the school office by the end of March.
