Cross Country

When the gun went off the Killester champions pushed against the wet grass for success. Sprinting towards the finish line was hope for great achievements, the cross country runners competed at Fairfield Park on Tuesday 18th June.

It was a very intense and wet day with a temperature of only 18°, but with encouragement and hard work, the girls pushed through, keeping in mind that they were representing Killester. It was a very tough competition against the other high school cross country teams however, in the juniors, Jessica Ingleby performed incredibly and held first position in the race, she achieved first place in the junior division two. Mitsuki Otaka who is in the junior team, also performed extremely well placing tenth. The senior team excelled and came seventh overall. The juniors succeed in placing 6th against the other schools, Intermediates achieved 6th place as well. Overall Killester performed really well and accomplished positioning 6th out of twelve in division 2.

Congratulations to all the girls who participated in the race and kept strong through the tough weather conditions. We would like to thank Mrs Kennedy and all of the other teachers for supporting us and cheering on.

The girls participated in the four day tournament in some extremely tough competition! The Juniors squad finished 20th out of 29 teams and the Senior squad played some very tough games and finished 15th out of 22 teams.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the students and their parents for their commitment to the team and amazing attitudes during the four days. Bianca and I are so proud of their efforts!!

Also thank you to the following staff who came down and supported the girls; Ms Cronin, Ms Sadler, Ms Collins, Mr Luciano, Miss Roberts, Ms Campion, Ms Curtis and Ms Xuereb.
