Science inquiry in 5/6

The 5/6 students have been exploring a unit of inquiry on the way scientific evidence can affect our lives. Over the past two weeks the 5/6 students have started to engage in our own experimental research. We first looked at ethical considerations around designing experiments. We then had to come up with a question we would test that affects our lives. Here are some examples of our experimental research:

Clare - I am testing what potato makes the best mash

Georgia - I am testing whether lemon juice and water affects the heat in radishes

Lily - I am testing how long you need to cook brownies to ensure they are the perfect consistency

Hannah - I am testing whether teachers can tell the difference between home brand and branded products

Alex - I am testing what laundry liquid works best

Audrey - I am testing if warm milk affects your sleep
