College Magazines
Congratulations to Mr Gene Easton and the magazine committee on the wonderful College magazine this year. It is a tribute to the great work undertaken by students and teachers at this school and gives insight into the vast array of programs and opportunities for students at Wantirna College.
The front cover is a highlight as it showcases the re launch of the house system which was initiated and driven by students. The mascots on the shield on the cover were designed by students and represent the spirit of each house.
We began distribution of the magazine last Friday through the Year 12 assembly and Year 7-9 classes. Unfortunately the magazine arrived after the Year 10 and 11 students had finished for the year.
If you have paid for, and not received, your magazine you may collect one from the General Office this week or early next term. We will organise for uncollected magazines to be distributed through Home group next year. They will also be available at the alumni assembly for this years Year 12 students.
If you did not order one there are a few copies available for purchase from the General Office at $24 each.
Media Release
As is consistent with our policy we do not release images of students identified by their name in the media unless we have a signed media release form for them. This includes the College magazine which we use in our publicity in later years.
As a result there are a number of students whose class photograph has not been included in this year's College Magazine. We apologise if this has caused distress for some students.
School Uniform Shoe Reminder
Just a reminder to parents when preparing for next year regarding appropriate footwear for students. The College uniform requires that students have plain black, leather, low heeled, lace up shoes for their school shoes. These requirements are in place for the following reasons:
Plain Black: to ensure uniformity
Leather: Protection of the foot in case of hot liquid spillage, dropped tools or other items
Low heeled: Protection of foot on uneven surfaces
Lace Up: ease of removal in case of injury.
Shoes may have a sports sole for comfort provided that they are not canvas and are plain black.
Book Collection 2019
Books ordered from the College through Campion are delivered to the school in January. They can be collected from the Science and Language Centre on Thursday 24th January between 9am and 2pm.
