Preshil Panthers Netball

The Preshil Panthers

Earlier this year a group of kids in the 10s & 11s formed a netball team. They invited anyone who might be interested to join and set about looking for a coach. It was decided to put a request to the Years 11 & 12 IB Diploma students who undertake CAS (Creativity, Activity & Service) as part of their studies. Tahlia and Eleanor in Year 11 joined the Panthers as coaches and what wonderful coaches they have been!

The Panthers have been training each week on a Tuesday at the Secondary School, and on Saturday 20 July the Preshil Panthers Netball Team debuted in the Richmond Netball League. They played against the Tiger Lilies and were cheered on by their families and coaches - and a couple of dogs!  It was a proud day and they worked together as a team with enthusiasm and determination.

This team represents something really special about Preshil: children at the helm. While these kids have been supported by a wonderful group of parents and older students, our Arlington kids have shown that they can imagine, create and see through to fruition their shared dream.

Go Panthers!
