Kindergarten

Young Learners

We are thoroughly enjoying watching our youngest learners discover the world of inventions, machines, engines and inclines. As we read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, we are discovering different ways of using our imagination. Our block building area in the classroom has become Charlie's factory, with a large golden gate that we must enter in order to discover the many inventions taking place.

We have learnt that many machines and engines have thinking brains and enjoyed creating a very long list of all the different machines that exist in our School. As we embark on introducing and recreating the various characters of the story, we have been able to incorporate discussions around the words 'compassion' and 'thoughtfulness' and what these words might look like in our classroom.

Bush School is keeping us very busy each Thursday, as we explore all that nature has to offer. There were many opportunities for the children to be compassionate and thoughtful towards each other during outdoor play and experiences that encouraged inventive ways of thinking and doing.
