Learning Power Award Recipients

Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

Naia

For being a motivated learner who listens to directions carefully so she knows what is expected in learning tasks.  Well done Naia.

PrepN

Saatvik

For being a resilient learner who bounces back quickly and gives swimming a red hot go.  Saatvik overcame his initial concerns about swimming and is now a superstar at putting his head underwater, jumping into the pool and changing himself. Well done Saatvik.

Joshua 

For being a collaborative learner who always works well in a team setting. He listens attentively to others and shows fairness in group tasks by valuing others opinions and ensuring everyone has a turn. He has shown the skills of a leader at his table group ensuring the table is tidy and learning trays are put away. Well done Joshua.

Hartez

For continuing to be a motivated and engaged learner as we approach the end of the year. Hartez continues to limit distractions around him in order to produce high quality learning pieces. Your love for learning is something to be admired. Well done on a fantastic year in Grade 1/2S Hartez.

For being a collaborative learner who always has a huge smile on her face, making group work friendly and fun. During our Inquiry presentations you and your group created a logical and interesting video! You worked very well in your group so keep lighting up the classroom Ramielle!

For being a motivated learner who becomes completely engaged in a task by ignoring all the distractions around her. She clarifies her thinking by asking questions and sets out to deepen her understanding. She places 100% into each set task and produces amazing results.

You have made decisions, negotiated through issues that arose and respected the people in your group and their point of view. Well done Ruan on being a wonderful class member who supports others and works effectively in a team.

For being a collaborative learner who is patient, who listens and who encourages others. Chelsea always shows respect for her classmates and tries her hardest in collaborative learning tasks.

For being a collaborative learner. You consistently work effectively with your peers, listening to their ideas respectfully and sharing your own. You were dedicated when preparing your debate with your team and presented a well rehearsed and planned speech. You have grown positive learning dispositions this year, setting yourself up for success next year in highschool! Keep up the great work Emerson!
