The Resilience Project

Esther Amoy, Deputy Head of Senior School

In our Middle and Senior School, there is a new program that we have implemented at Emmaus, called ‘The Resilience Project’. This comprehensive program has been rolled out to students in Years 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12, while Year 9 students will be participating in ‘The Rite Journey’.

At Emmaus, we are dedicated to the holistic development of students in a manner that is in harmony with Biblical truths and prepares them to have a positive, Godly influence on their world. We believe that resilience, from a Christian worldview, is crucial in providing skills for success in both academic and personal life.

‘The Resilience Project’ is designed to help students develop essential life skills. It is based on the principles of Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness (GEM), and Emotional Literacy, and will provide students with weekly lessons and activities that encourage them to identify their strengths, adopt a growth mindset, and build resilience.

We are confident that this program will further support the great work already happening in our homes and communities around the wellbeing of our students. We hope it will provide opportunities for students and families to dialogue together as we develop our understanding of wellbeing practices. We encourage caregivers to explore and engage with the TRP@Home resources provided through the program, and discuss with your children what they are learning in the classroom.

Please refer to the below flyer for additional information. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child's teacher or myself, the Ambassador for ‘The Resilience Project’ at Emmaus.

Thank you for your continued support,
