Year 12 Business Management Incursion

On Thursday 9 February, the two Unit 3/4 Business Management classes had the opportunity to hear from a social enterprise business, "Skyline Hatch", to help enhance students' understandings to assist in their studies. As part of the study design, students had to study the social enterprise business structure, which is a business that intends to make a profit in order to fulfil a social need or purpose. Skyline Hatch, launched in 2021, is a social enterprise business that addresses inequity in education in Victoria, by providing high-achieving VCE students with resources like forums and modules to assist them in achieving their potential during their final two years of schooling. During Period 4 on Thursday, Sally from Skyline Hatch came to Nossal High School to explain their social enterprise, its vision, purpose and more.

Students were able to learn about the structure and operations of social enterprises, and how they promote the social wellbeing of individuals and communities.

At the end of the presentation, Sally gave the students the opportunity to ask questions, and completed the incursion with a complimentary button badge for every student. In the end, it was a beneficial experience as students got to further their own knowledge of social enterprises, and had exposure to the different resources that can support them during their VCE years.

A big thank you to Sally Watts for giving up her time to speak to all the 12 VCE Business Management Students and to Ms Wen, for assisting in the supervision in the JRC.
