Pope Francis established a World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly which took place for the first time on Sunday 25 July 2021 and for the second time on Sunday 24 July 2022.
The World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly will be celebrated for the third time in 2023 on Sunday 23 July – the Sunday closest to the Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, Grandparents of Jesus. The theme chosen by Pope Francis for this year’s celebration is:
“His mercy is from age to age” (Luke 1:50).
Our Living Well, Learning Well Representatives (LWLW Reps) organised the Mufti Day on the last day of Term 2 to raise money for St Vinnies. Many thanks to all the students who wore Mufti clothing in an effort to fundraise for St Vinnies. We raised $74.25.
The LWLW Reps will visit St Vinnies soon to donate this money to help those in need.
Our LWLW Reps will meet regularly to discuss school happenings and events. They will organise a Fundraising venture each Term.
Children and young people can offer unique perspectives on what it is like to be a student at St Joseph's; involving them in decision-making can create meaningful change as well as facilitating a sense of empowerment and inclusion.
Take care and kind regards,
