Introducing… Read To Be Ready

Kindergarten 2024!

Read To Be Ready is an early literacy initiative aimed at building children’s literacy skills, encouraging a daily reading habit, developing a love of learning, engaging children with language and helping them understand themselves and others. During Term 3 and 4 of this year, our Kindergarten 2024 students are invited to participate in St Xavier’s first Read To Be Ready. Our future Kindergarten students, along with their parents, are encouraged to visit the office or library and collect a Read To Be Ready bag filled with books and activities to help prepare them for school next year.

 Book Talk Stage 2

This Week, Year 3 and 4 held their first Book Talk. Book Talk is a chance for students to share what they are reading with others. They entertained fellow students with some of the latest and greatest fiction, graphic novels and their favourite authors. It was an enjoyable lunch and gave students great ideas for their next read.

Did you know that St Xavier’s students have access to thousands of eBooks and audiobooks via the Armidale Catholic Schools Office Digital Library?
