From the Principal

Guess who is off to the Nationals?

Yes it is ANDI!!!

Congratulations Andi we are so proud of your efforts and great achievement. Andi came 2nd this year in the Victorian State Cross Country. She missed coming first by just a second and was beaten by the girl who came first at last year's National. So close. Andi has trained hard for this event and has improved her State placing from last year's 5th place to 2nd this year. Andi is now off to the Nationals which will be held in Canberra later this year. Go Andi!! We are so proud of you.

Every learning space stopped to cheer Andi as she arrived back to school.

Preparing for 2024

Enrolment interviews for our Preps for 2024 have been completed and enrolment acceptance has been confirmed. If you know someone who has recently moved or is planning to move to the area and wishes to enrol there are still limited places available for 2024. It is important that they book a tour and submit an enrolment application now.

We are commencing the process of making arrangements for 2024, which also includes budgeting and staffing. It is important that if your child is not returning in 2024 that you notify the school in writing. We encourage you to do this now or as soon as possible.

MACSSIS 2023 - Get Involved

Throughout each year, we pause to listen to our students, families and staff to gauge how our learning community is travelling. This feedback is invaluable to our progress.

A significant and formal way in which we engage and gather data is through MACSSIS, the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys.

Further information will be provided in coming weeks. We encourage our families to participate in this confidential feedback. As a school we evaluate and adjust and change our plans informed by data we gather. MACSSIS data is a key source on information that informs our school improvement and our 2024 Annual Action plans.

We have Moved in!!

The new building has been completed and we have moved in. The children went on a tour of the new facilities and there were many audible exclamations of delight. One student even told me, "That she had never seen such beautiful toilets!"  On Tuesday classes commenced with music lessons. The children were so excited to use the sensational facilities. Some groups were even able to venture on to the new stage to see what it was like. It is going to be so amazing to have the stage for rehearsals as we prepare for the 2023 school production.

We are still in the process of setting up the spaces and learning about the various gadgets that have been installed. Training sessions on the AV and the hearing augmentation installed took place. On Friday we decided to have a go at using the AV with our first assembly in the new hall. As part of this assembly, the lucky names drawn from our PBL week 1 awards, were the first to have a shot at goals. They participated in a basketball shoot off competition. There was great excitement as children had a shot for goals from the free throw line. It is an amazing space and we look forward to the multitude of new experiences that will occur as a result of having this great community space.

We invite parents to drop by for a tour next Friday 21 July after drop off to join us in the new hall for a cuppa and a tour. We look forward to welcoming our parents into this wonderful facility. An official opening will be organised in Term 4 when the landscape work has been completed.

Attendance and Punctuality is Essential

It is so important to ensure your child attends school and is punctual. The learning day starts at 8:45 am. Children who are late miss vital teaching that commences with reading. A positive start and routine sets your child up for the best possible day. Your support in enhancing attendance is vital to improvement.

What else is NEW?

Thanks to the support from our P&F, the final line markings took place this week. See if you can find where this has been placed. We also received a complimentary school sign. The children can use the games as part of school based activities and also at play times. How many different patterns can you discover? Can you make up a game and share the rules with us? Send us an email or a note with your responses.
