Principal's Report

Flexible. Resilient. Positive. 2023

Welcome back to Term 3! It has been a lovely smooth start to the new term and students have settled well back into the routine of school. It is always an exhausting first week for the students in the depths of winter, so please expect your son/daughter to be tired as we come into the first weekend.

We have a fun filled term of learning and engagement. There is again a wealth of activities, incursions and excursions planed for the students to enrich their learning program here at school;

  • Foundation Milo Monkey Birthday & Puppet Making Incursion
  • German Poetry Competition
  • Level 4 Swimming & Wetlands Excursion
  • Level 1&2 Excursion Como House

Staffing News

We are pleased to introduce two new teachers to our team at Rangeview - Tim Powell and Susanne Heine. Tim joins us as the grade teacher for 5/6M and Susanne joins us as a German language teacher. We also welcome back Mandy Cooke as an education support staff member after a period of leave.

I would like to farewell one of our Education Support staff - Mila Arcenas. Mila has been at Rangeview for over 5 years and has worked to support students in the classroom and also in small groups in an English as an Additional Language (EAL) role. Mila has been promoted in her role in banking and we wish her the best in this new challenge.

Curriculum Day - Pupil Free Day

We will be holding our Curriculum Day this term on Monday 7th August. Our staff will be participating in further training in Phonics teaching as we work towards our whole school Phonics Model. We will also be undertaking our required First Aid and CPR training.

Their Care will be operating on this day for any families that require care.

State Cross Country

We congratulate our fabulous Grade 4 Cross Country Runner - Collette - who competed yesterday in the Victorian State Cross Country. Collette finished 13th overall and has qualified as emergency for the Team Victoria Cross Country to potentially compete at Nationals next month! Well done Collette - Rangeview is behind you.

Parents & Friends Committee

Our wonderful Parents and Friends Committee are up and active for the term with the first meeting on Tuesday night this week at school at 7pm. This term they are running the Father's Day stall and also the Kids Disco night on Friday 4th August. There will again be a Junior and a Senior Disco for our students to enjoy. More information on this event is to come.

I would encourage any families with interest in joining our Parents and Friends Committee to reach out to Rebecca or Laura on Rangeviewpf@gmail.com The more assistance this group has the better our school events can be.

Junior School Council - Book Donation

Our JSC is calling for book donations for Wangaratta District Special School. This school does not have a library and this is an expensive thing to start up. If any families have unwanted children's books - picture story books or novels - that are in good condition, please bring them to the tubs outside the library.

It is hard to find ways to donate unwanted books and we hope that this will  help our friends at Wangaratta District to further their love of reading!

Have a wonderful weekend and I will see you at Rangeview!
