Sports Gala, Academy Musical + Marcellin Taster
On Tuesday the 6th of June, our Seniors headed off to Reservoir for our Winter Gala Day. Here's what our Seniors had to say:
NETBALL GIRLS
When we arrived, it was raining but luckily it stopped before we started playing. We played three games - we won two and drew our last game. It was a really tough game against Fairfield P.S! Our winning percentage was high so we won the Girls' Netball competition and we are going through to Divisionals! Everyone was really engaging in the game and calling out for the ball. Thank you Miss Lauren for coaching our team!

NETBALL MIXED
The Gala Day was so much fun! We won all of our games against the different schools. We thought we got through to the Grand Final but our winning percentage was not as high as some of the other schools so we came third overall. We played really well as a team and we had really good sportsmanship. Thank you to Jo and Mel for coaching our team!

SOCCER TEAM ONE
The Gala Day was really enjoyable because there were a lot of goals, defence and amazing plays. We played three games against other schools and we won one, drew one and lost one. In the end, we played a friendly match and drew with Fairfield P.S. Our awesome coach was Klara and Damian's mum Kate and Miss Brittany.

SOCCER TEAM TWO
The soccer matches were really fun and enjoyable to play. there was a lot of good sportsmanship from all the teams We played four games, where we won 2 games and lost 2 games. We didn't get upset when we lost, we just wanted to go out there and have fun. Thank you to our coach, Christian (Mason's brother) and Miss Julia.

On the 31st of May, our Senior students were very lucky to have the opportunity to visit The Academy of Mary Immaculate to watch the first run-through performance of "Legally Blonde Jr". We caught the train to Parliament station and walked over to Academy.
We were seated in the performance room and the show began! The performance was absolutely amazing and our students were in awe of the actors! We were very lucky to stay back and get photos with the cast and crew, as well as getting a sticker with Bruiser the Dog! We would like to thank Academy for having us!
On Friday the Grade 5’s went to Marcellin with Miss Brittany and Miss Olivia to experience a taste of high school. We got to do four activities to explore Science, Design and Technology, Music and Art.
In Science, we tried to make a rainbow using a light box, mirrors and lenses. We also got to use a Bunsen burner to make different colour flames with different chemicals. It was really cool!
In Design and Technology, we had to build the tallest tower out of rolled paper and sticky tape. Our tower was taller than the other schools!
In Art, we got to design our own tie using black paper that when we scratched it, it had rainbow colours underneath.
In Music, we got to sing along with the music teachers and their instruments. Julian got chosen to go up the front to do a tongue twister.
Altogether, we had an amazing time at Marcellin College!
