Principal's Message

Liam Buckley

We acknowledge that Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne are situated on the lands of the five language groups that make up the Kulin Nations, who have walked upon and cared for this land for thousands of years.

We pay respects to their Elders past, present and future, and commit to the ongoing journey of reconciliation.

Dear Families

Welcome to Week 8

I hope everyone enjoyed a long weekend! We have two weeks until we finish for the mid year holiday break. We will finish at 1.30pm on Friday 23rd June. I appreciate that we are living through a very challenging time at St Joseph's at the moment. On behalf of all the staff, I would like to extend my gratitude to all of you for supporting us and each other. This community is simply amazing.

PSGs are this week and next week and you would have received an invitation. We are sending student reports home on Friday and you are invited into school to have a parent teacher interview on Wednesday 21st June.

Gymnastics Excursion

All the students visited Highett Youth Club this week for an excellent gymnastic excursion. The sessions were great fun and exercise and our students loved it! Thank you Mrs Wells for organising this!

St Joseph's has Talent !!

Next Thursday we are holding St Joseph's has Talent show! The students are busily organising dances or songs or a few jokes to share. We will also be having a sausage sizzle at 3.30pm tomorrow (Friday) to raise some funds towards prizes for the talent!

Melbourne Zoo Excursion

We loved our day at the Zoo! It was lovely to visit the zoo as a whole school and we were really lucky with the beautiful weather. The students had a great time and were able to practice some Indonesian while visiting the orang-utans and elephants.

HOLT District Sports

Well done to our amazing senior children on the effort and energy they always put into the inter-school sports. It has been a pleasure watching our very successful teams and individuals. Massive shout out to Nick Harber for umpiring the footy this season and to Corey Shannon for coaching. Also thank you to Melinda and Ben for managing the sports so well along with all the other jobs you do!

Beachside Cross Country

Noah, Daniel and Michael competed in the Beachside Cross Country (representing the HOLT District which St Joseph's is one of 9 small schools). Noah and Daniel ran strongly in their first Beachside competition. Michael ran like the wind and held off strong competition to win his age group and he will now represent Beachside at the next level, Southern Metro. Fingers crossed for Michael.

Netball Lightning Premiership

The Girls Team and the Mixed Team were outstanding last Wednesday and they both played with great spirit and teamwork. Both team came runner up in the competition after a long hard fought day. Thank you Melinda and Bridgette for coaching and helping the teams.

Football Lightning Premiership

The Footy team came 4th overall out of 9 schools in a very strong AFL competition. The team have bonded and competed really well this season and should be really proud of themselves. Thank you to Nick and Corey for umpiring and coaching and to Ben Sandison for managing the footy team.
