It was a delight to meet Paul Rodriquez, his wife and family when they attended the recent Grandparent’s Day as guests of grandson, Year 8 student Louis Salopek. Paul has a special association with Mazenod as one of the boys in the first enrolment intake in 1967 when classes were held at St Joseph’s Primary School, Springvale. Louis is the first grandson of a Mazenod Old Boy to attend the College.

19 June 1968, Springvale/Clayton News published an article ‘College for Boys opens’ part of which is included here. Construction was ongoing with the science block still to be completed. The students are leaving for home on their bikes at 3.40 pm.
