Technology News

Prep, Grade 1, and Grade 2 students have started Investigating Robots.

We've been discussing the types of robots in the world around us, and getting used to remotely controlling some of the robots we have in the Technology space at school.

In Minecraft we've been sculpting robots too, imagining what job these creations could have.

Grade 3/4 have been continuing their digital adventures, expanding their coding, making and typing skills, along with an introduction to Rocket League, an eSport where 2 teams of cars play soccer. Through this video game students can develop and practice their teamwork, reaction speed and strategy in a fast-paced and friendly environment.

Our Grade 5/6 students have been learning to utilize the school's laser cutter, working with both Tinkercad and Inkscape to create designs.

Tinkercad allows stuents to easily develop millimeter-accurate designs, while Inkscape provides them with intricate control over vector-based artworks. By gaining proficiency in these software programs, our students are acquiring essential skills in digital design and fabrication. With the laser cutter, they can transform their digital creations into physical objects with precision and accuracy. I'm excited to see the designs they will bring to life using the laser cutter over the duration of the year.

Stay creative!
