Principal's Message

Mr Forrest

Well Done Wedderburn College

At our Whole School Assembly on Tuesday afternoon we were presented with a Silver Award for our School Wide Positive Behaviours.  We are the first school in our region to receive this award and it is a credit to the school staff and students for working together to implement this successful Department of Education initiative.   Our Department of Education School Improvement Leader Paul Hon spoke how well Wedderburn College had implemented the SWPBS initiative.   The regional SWPBS coach Kerry Hammond was also on hand to present the silver framed certificate to School Captains Zen and Eliza.   Well done everybody, now let's go for GOLD!

New Instructional Learning Model Arrives

During the Whole School Assembly our teaching and learning literacy leader Mr Alexander Iser took centre stage to officially launch our new Teaching Instructional Model 'LEARN.'   This is an area that was identified in our school review last year which we could improve on. Staff have been developing and learning as a team over the past eight weeks on each aspect of 'LEARN.'  Students will be given further information on 'LEARN' through hands on activities during Huddle time next week. We look forward to sharing more developments on 'LEARN' with you in the future.  The 'LEARN' display will be hung in the school foyer and has a photo of every student and staff member included on it, as we are all active learners.  A big thank you to the Grade 3 and 4 students for helping prepare and being involved during the launch.  We must also thank the Instructional Model Team and to Mr Iser for leading the way.

Childcare - The Final Push

The Loddon Shire has been guaranteed a Childcare Centre but where will it be situated?

As you are all aware we have been advocating for the Centre to be built in Wedderburn and would be happy to build it at our school.  We are currently gathering more impact statements to publish in all media forms.  We need your assistance, so please let us know how you have been impacted through the lack of childcare in our town.  During the month of June we are going to gather momentum and campaign hard for a new facility in Wedderburn.   Please grab a copy of the Loddon Herald this week to read about what is happening with a two page feature. Together we can make it happen!

Term 2 is  Resigned to History

Well once again time flies when you are having fun! A huge congratulations to everyone for their efforts over Term 2 and for the first semester. A reminder school reports will be sent home in hard copy  and online next week.   You will have the chance for a catch up with teachers during week 3 next term.  We look forward to term 3 with all the extra events such as the House Athletic sports, school camps and the school production just to name a few. I hope everyone has a great holiday break, stay warm and have a safe enjoyable holiday. We look forward to a great return to school on Monday 10th July.
