Industry Experience Week
Our Year 10 AEL students relished the opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes at a number of local businesses as part of their Industry Experience Week last week.
The purpose of our Industry Experience Week is to connect our AEL students with local industries to explore work experience opportunities and future employment pathways.
The Year 10 Applied Learning Pathway provides students with the knowledge and skills to enhance their continued education and employment prospects. It aims to better prepare our students for a pathway that leads them into VCE-Vocational Mayor (VCE-VM) or Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) while also giving them a range of life skills.
At St Joseph's College we take enormous pride in preparing our students for their futures and this program aims to increase students' understanding of the world of work, develop employability skills, explore possible career options, understand employer expectations, and increase their self-understanding, maturity, independence, and self-confidence.
While undertaking work ready week our students are given the opportunity to observe different aspects of work within one of their chosen industries and will also complete further work experience blocks of one week each term.
We would like to thank all the amazing workplaces for taking the time to host our students including:
- Rich River Golf Club
- Port of Echuca
- Evans Shoes
- Holcim
