Year 12 Economics Talk with Effie Tan
On Tuesday 13 June, the Year 12 Economics students were fortunate enough to host Effie Tan from the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet in Canberra.
Effie took time out of her schedule to visit St Joseph's and speak to the class about her experiences in studying economics at school and university. She also gave some insights into her career pathways after studies.
The class had the opportunity to ask her about her career in consulting as she worked around the world and what she does now in her current role in a department that can scrutinise up to 900 potential policies a year. Effie had some very valuable messages for the students and reinforced the value of effort in whatever career we take on and where that can lead us.
