Year 9 Captains' Report

This term, Middle School students have started to settle in to our new subjects and have made some new friends as well.

Recently, we had the opportunity to select our subjects for next year, for either Years 10 or 11. We hope that all students thought through what subjects will interest them, but most importantly, help them with their future.

We would also like to congratulate the students that were successful in making the Athlete Development Program and Excellence In Sport Program for next year. These are both really awesome achievements and deserve to be celebrated. 

On Friday 2 August, we celebrated IDAHOBIT Day, it was really great to see everyone dressed in their bright and colourful outfits and accessories to celebrate such an important and special day. At lunchtime there was a face painting stall and a sausage sizzle, alongside some outstanding entertainment, from our own Lilydale High students competing in '2019 The Voice Grand Final'.  It was music to our ears, as all performers sang beautifully. Congratulations to everybody who performed, you all did amazingly.  And a big thank you to everyone who helped organise and be apart of the IDAHOBIT Day, you did a great job and your work is much appreciated.

Just a reminder, the 2019 School Production will be held soon on, Thursday 22 August to Saturday 24 August.  A Saturday matinee performance will also be held at 1.00 pm.  Further details can be found on the school website.

2019 Year 9 Tasmania Camp

FINAL PAYMENT 

The FINAL PAYMENT of $530.00 is due on COMPASS or at the Main Office by, Friday 13 September.

CAMP DATES

Monday 11 November to Friday 15 November.

2019 Year 10 FORMAL

Year 10 students are invited to attend the Year 10 Formal on Friday 18 October at Linley Estate, Kilsyth.

The cost of $75 includes hire of the venue, a 3 course meal, soft drinks, DJ, decorations and event prizes.

No payments will be accepted after Wednesday 28 August on COMPASS or at the Main Office.

Lilydale High School Nepal Expedition November 2020

Lilydale High School is holding an Information Evening on Wednesday 14 August, at 6.30 pm in the Theatre, for parents/guardians of students in Years 9 & 10 who may be interested in attending a Leadership and Service Expedition to Nepal in November 2020.

Does your son/daughter have UNEXPLAINED ABSENCES?

Parents and guardians are asked to check COMPASS and approve ANY UNEXPLAINED ABSENCES your son/daughter  may have this year.

Notifying the school of your child’s absence either prior to, or on the day that they will be away, helps ensure the safety and wellbeing of students and will fulfil your legal responsibility.

This system also promotes daily school attendance. Going to school every day is the single most important part of your child’s education, they learn new things every day – missing school puts them behind.

Please note, it is DEECD (Department of Education and Early Childhood Development) policy that all student absences are accounted for.
