Wellbeing and Engagement Collection
Students in our school have been invited to take part in a data collection being conducted in weeks 1-4 of next term.
Young people’s sense of wellbeing is an important part of their development and how they learn at school. The purpose of the survey is to seek students’ views about their wellbeing and their engagement with school. Across the State, students in year levels 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 will participate in the Wellbeing and Engagement Collection. The information collected will help inform work in the education system and broader community to help improve young people’s health and wellbeing.
The survey asks young people about their 1) Social and Emotional Wellbeing: About you; 2) School Relationships and Engagement: About your relationships and learning in school; and 3) Physical Health and Wellbeing: About your health, lifestyle and after school activities. Students’ answers will be kept confidential – no one will use the results to identify individual students.
Teachers will arrange for students to undertake the data collection during one or two class lessons. Students will be asked if he or she would like to participate and will be free to withdraw at any time. You may withdraw your child from the survey at any time simply by informing the teacher or school leadership. Please see the attached letter which was distributed to families a couple of weeks ago for further details.

This is an important reminder to all parents that West Beach Primary School is a 'Nut Free School. It is very important that all families are extremely careful to not send children to school with any food that may contain any traces of nuts as we have numerous children who may suffer potentially fatal allergic reactions to nuts.
