Swimming Sports
On Wednesday students from years 7 to 12 participated in the secondary swimming carnival at the Echuca War Memorial Aquatic Centre. Students brought their school spirit, and we saw groups of friends cheering their classmates during the races, or dancing on the side of the pool to the music, which set a festive vibe at the carnival. The focus of this carnival was following the school value of doing your best and we saw many students swimming who were giving it a go, persevering to the end of the pool and definitely doing their best.
I would like to acknowledge and thank all staff who helped organise the day, especially the PDHPE staff who helped me set up the carnival along with student helpers Lauren O’Dea, Jamison McFadden, Ashah Downie, Maia Uys and Daniel Chu. Thank you also to the students who helped run the day – Elliot Walker-Staalkjaer, Jack Barber, Harper Raverty, Jude O’Rourke, Sophie Weeks, Chloe Hughes, Christian Douglas, Nixon Torney, Tanner Smith and all the helpers on the BBQ.
Congratulations to Hayley Holmes who broke her own Butterfly record for a new record of 35.31 seconds; the Martin 15 & under medley relay team who set a new record of 2.49.31; and Perricoota Open girls freestyle broke their record by almost 6 seconds for a new record of 2.33.71.

Bar-Rook School Shoot
Bar-Rook Sporting Field & Game Australia are holding their annual School Shoot on Monday March 18th 2019. If you participate in shooting as a sport, own your own firearm and have a junior permit or equivalent and would like to participate in this event, please contact me.
The event will commence at 9am sharp at Bar-Rook Field & Game grounds, Gonn Road, Barham. The cost per student participating is $15.00, with ammunition and targets covered as part of this entry fee.
The school will require students to be taken to the event by their parents, however the school will coordinate the entries. Last year we had some very successful students participate in this event, so please let me know if you are interested in participating this year.
Athletic success
Congratulations Hannah and Hayley Greenman, and Maya Kadri who have qualified in various events to go through to State Little Athletics Championships.
Please continue to let me know of student successes in sport outside of school, as I enjoy sharing and recognising personal successes of students with our school community.
