Around the School

Kindergarten Valentines day
I love you to pieces ❤️
Our Kindergarten students had a wonderful morning creating artwork for Valentine’s Day. Those smiles say it all!
Beacon leadership training day
19 Beacon Leaders from five local secondary schools, Moama Anglican Grammar, Echuca College, Echuca Specialist School, St Joseph's College Echuca, River City Christian College, came together on Friday for the Leadership Development Day. Our Beacon Leaders spent the day getting to know students from other schools, in leadership workshops, setting individual goals, completing personality quizzes and working on Public speaking and networking skills.
HSC Drama excursion
Our Year 12 Drama students have enjoyed a wonderful trip to Sydney to see the top 2018 HSC individual projects including script readings, video dramas, individual and group performances. Students walked away inspired for the year ahead and amazed at the out-of-the-box ideas previous students had pursued in their studies.
VET Primary Industries
After many months in discussion and planning, Calga Dohnes commercial property Caroonboon Station welcomed Moama Anglican Grammar representative Danielle Garden to Caroonboon, to take delivery of 6 special ewes. The ewes will become the core breeding stock for our sheep enterprise on the school farm. We are thrilled to be a part of this educational partnership and to be working with students to increase their knowledge of the sheep industry. Thank you to Bruce Barnes Webb / DD Dohnes for your efforts in the initial stages of planning. Meet Coco and Skye! Who arrived at Moama Anglican Grammar today to look after our sheep. They have been to the hair dressers and also had a pedicure in preparation for their arrival.
Big thanks to the Bavich family for lending us their beautiful Alpacas.
Coco is super friendly, inquisitive and a bit of a leader between the two. You can remember his name by thinking Coco pops when looking at his brown coat.
Skye is cheeky and a little shy, with beautiful blue eyes and a white face. Sure to break some hearts.
Southern 80 Success
Staff and students had a successful weekend at the 2019 Southern 80, an amazing event which brought thousands of people to our twin towns.
Year 8 student Jake Clancy won his Social SMOC class on Saturday and also skied together with Mum (and staff member) Lisa on Sunday in the SMOC Expert and finished 2nd overall. Year 9 student Jaymi Clancy won her Under 16 Girls Expert class on Sunday. Year 8 student Kasey Branson won the Under 14 Girls Expert class. Well done to all who participated over the weekend.
Pirates
Congratulations team on a thrilling win 🏀
Class of 2018 graduate Liam Tenace and our 2018 MAG trainee, Regan Smith have been soaring high since Echuca Pirates recent win at the CBL North West Conference Championship in Bendigo.
Year 2 Cello performance
This week during classroom music, Year 2 students viewed a cello demonstration presented by our cello tutor, Mr Damien Johnson.
The aim of the demonstration was to encourage students to commence learning cello with Damien if they are interested. A limited number of places to learn cello with Damien are available. Learning cello may also lead to additional co-curricular music opportunities, including the possibility to join our MAG Strings Ensemble in future years.

A visit from Kimberley Price (Class of 2014)
Former student and now journalist for the Riverine Herald, Kimberley Price, visited English students on Thursday to chat about her work and the exciting things she gets to be involved in, like playing with puppies or spending the weekend at the Riverboats Festival. These stories sparked interest in our students who had a lot of questions for Kim.
