Well done to all four teams who competed in the Year 7 girls Yarra District competition.

Lilydale High School A1 team: Section A
Lilydale High A1 v Lilydale High A2: LHS A1 winners 12-7
Lilydale High A1 v Emerald Secondary College: LHS A1 winners 12-7
Lilydale High A1 v Lilydale Heights Secondary College: LHS A1 winners 21-4
Lilydale High School A2 team: Section A
Lilydale High A2 v Lilydale High A1: LHS A2 lost 7-12
Lilydale High A2 v Lilydale Heights Secondary College: LHS A2 winners 8-4
Lilydale High A2 v Emerald Secondary College: LHS A2 winners 13-9
LHS A2 team competed against Healesville High for the bronze medal. Each player gave their best effort but unfortunately could not come away with the win, losing 13-9.

LHS A1 team played Upper Yarra Secondary College for the gold medal and won convincingly 21-2.

In the B Section, the Lilydale High School teams played extremely well in all of their matches.
Lilydale High B1 team:
LHS B1 v Yarra: Won 9-1
LHS B1 v Lilydale Heights 2 : Won 9-4
LHS B1 v Emerald SC: Won 5-5
MVP B1: Holly Habenschuss
I would also like to acknowledge Selena Johnson of Year 9, for coaching the team on the day. She did a tremendous job and showed outstanding leadership skills for the day.
Lilydale High B2 team:
LHS B2 v Emerald: Won 10-5
LHS B2 v Yarra: Won 14-6
LHS B2 v Lilydale Heights B: Won 8-2
MVP B2: Jess Bateman
I would like to acknowledge Mariah Derksen of Year 9, for the outstanding job she did of coaching the team on the day.
In the final, both Lilydale B teams fought a tough battle, with Lilydale High B2 the winner. Well done to both teams finishing 1st and 2nd in Section 2.

Year 7 Boys Football
Congratulations to the Year 7 Boys Football team for winning the Eastern Metropolitan Region competition at Barngeong Reserve on Tuesday 2 May.

Boys Netball
The Senior, Intermediate and Junior boys competed in the Yarra Division Netball at Pinks Reserve on Tuesday 1st May.
The boys competed hard all day with the junior and intermediate teams really improving as the day went on.
The senior boys continued their netball success, easily WINNING the competition even though they played with 1 less player.

Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist -
Harry Garside
The students in the Year 9 and 10 Athlete Development Programs were lucky enough to have Harry Garside, a former student of Lilydale High School and recent Commonwealth Games Gold medalist, come out and talk to them.
Harry talked about his sporting journey towards his gold medal in Boxing and the challenges he has faced and how he overcame them.
He gave the students some tips that they can apply to their own training.
