Junior Basketball

On Thursday 8 August, Year 7 & 8 Boys and Girls Basketball teams headed out to participate in the Interschool Junior Basketball Competition.

The competition was held at Dandenong Basketball Stadium where the boys team fixture comprised of 4 games and each of the girl’s teams 3.

All students showed a great deal of skill and confidence during their games as well as endurance as each of the first 3 games for all teams were played back to back to back with no break in between.

Teammates from each team were encouraging and supporting as they took on competition from surrounding local schools in the area of Knox.

Efforts were plentiful from all players and it was great to observe such a high level of team morale and comradery from the entire Scoresby SC Junior Basketball Squad as a whole.

Particular mentions go to Elias Gelven and Bridie Morgan for their outstanding contributions as team captains for their sides. Both students displayed a high level of knowledge and experience in the sport of Basketball as well as leadership in paving the way for their fellow teammates and peers.

All in all, the teams gave 100% in all their games and time spent on the court and they are to be congratulated on a very positive day for the college. It should also be mentioned that our students represented the college in the highest possible fashion, demonstrating respect and pride in every aspect of the day, including resect for other teams and schools, officials and the venue that was made available for the students and the competition itself.

Well done to all players once again!

Year 9 Table Tennis

On Wednesday the 31 July, four students were taken out to play table tennis with the local intermediate secondary schools in the district. The enthusiasm the year 9 boys displayed was incredible. Not only did they play with passion and fun, they helped other teams by scoring and enjoyed watching others play while they waited for their turn.  Despite the boys coming in last, their team effort and contribution to the day was phenomenal.  They helped score the finals, despite being in it and left with their heads held high.  What a proud and defining moment for the Scoresby intermediate table tennis team.
