International Students 

Short Term International Students Report

This year, we have had 15 short-term international students joining us during July- August.  We have students vary from Year 7 to 9 from various parts of China.  For many students, it is their first time leaving their family and spend a few weeks in a foreign country with a host family.

Students attend classes with their buddies and make the most out of their experience.  At the end of their journey, students were issued with a certificate of attendance and a small souvenir that represents Australia by our College Principal, Mrs Major.  Students have had a fantastic time here at the college.  Many of them expressed their interest to come back to Australia for further study in the near future and our college is on their first choice.

“ I really enjoyed my time here at Scoresby as I get to do different subjects that are not offered in China.  I like woodwork and food technologies most as they are fun and hands on. “

“ I get to do different projects here. For example, in Chinese, we are working on a project on Terra Cotta Warriors. I got to share my experience in China to the whole class and my classmates loved it.”

Having short-term international students to our college is a great addition for our school community.  Students at our college will learn different cultures and people from all over the world.  It is a fantastic opportunity for them to gain sound intercultural awareness.
