L'Oreal Girls in Science Forum
On the 12th of November, four senior students with a passion for science were invited to attend the Girls in Science Forum and L’Oreal Australia program, at the University of Melbourne. The morning session included hearing from five female recipients of L’Oreal-UNESCO For Women in Science Australian and New Zealand Fellows, each fellow explaining their pathway to their career, passion for science as well as explaining the obstacles they faced. This introduction was continued after lunch, where our group attended the Harry Brookes Allen Museum of Anatomy and Pathology, allowing students the surreal opportunity to see and touch human remains donated to science such as a heart, brain and lungs. To conclude the day our last workshop included a presentation focused on the technologies and sciences involved with Drones. Overall, this opportunity allowed for us students to gain an insight of the university, understand the variety of courses offered and the pathways to these careers, leaving all students inspired and motivated to make a change in society.

Access Monash
Access Monash were delighted to celebrate the 2019 Year 12 Mentees from McClelland College who graduated from the Access Monash Mentoring Program. An end of year celebration was held at Monash University’s Caulfield Campus on Thursday 10 October to commemorate the achievements of each mentee.
Each mentee received individual mentoring from a current Monash University student throughout the year. Mentors provided invaluable advice and support to their mentees - providing insight into university life, clarifying future goals and supporting mentees with study tips throughout year 12.
