Bunnings BBQ THIS SATURDAY 11 August

The annual Bunnings BBQ is this weekend!  Come along and support this fundraising event, say hi and buy a sausage.  There are still a couple of time slots to be filled so if you can help out go to https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090D49AEA82DA6FA7-bunnings

A huge thank you to the Railway Club Hotel, Port Melbourne for generously donating the sausages and to the Year 3 parents who have worked hard to prepare for this fundraiser.

Father’s Day at Galilee Friday 31st August

Father’s Day is fast approaching.  There will be a morning catch up before school for our Dads and significant men in our children’s lives followed by a Father’s Day Mass at 9:30am.  Look out for details next week and a Caremonkey to confirm your attendance.

Trivia Night Gala

As Simon Millar announced in last weeks bulletin, the Trivia Night Gala raised approximately $30,000!  With invoices being finalised we should be able to officially announce the final amount very soon.  This has been our most successful Trivia Night to date and it would not have been possible without Bec Giorgilli taking the lead and a team of hardworking parent volunteers and the Events Committee.

Next Meeting Tuesday 14 August

Our next committee meeting will be at 7:30pm at the Montague Hotel just near school on Tuesday 14 August.  All are welcome.  We would love to see some new faces come along.

Open Mornings - Change of Day

Open Morning Day has changed from Monday to Friday. Classrooms will be open for drop off from 8:35-8:50am. This is a great opportunity to see your child in their learning environment. The parent survey results from last year indicated that Friday was also a preferred choice.

We hope to see you at Open Mornings, starting this Friday 10th August.

Can you draw and design a hotel for bees?

Families all over the world are making hotels for bees out of recycled materials. These hotels can be a nesting place for bees in summer and a hibernation place in winter.

You will need: • Recycled cardboard, plastic bottles, tree branches, rocks, twigs • Bricks and shelving

What to do: Draw and design a hotel for bees.
