Semester One - The Arts

Term 2, Week 8 (22/6) comes to the end of our very first semester for the Arts and French programs.

Recently our school held a very special National Sorry Day assembly followed by creating individual Sorry Day flags and our students did us all proud in singing and performing the ‘I am Australian’ song.

We also had a visit from the SA Police Band who delighted our students with their ‘hip’ repertoire of music and shared valuable education in understanding the role of the Police in our communities.

We have had a fun-filled and full semester exploring the areas of Drama and Dance and how the Arts contribute to our lives on a daily basis with the ability to challenge norms, be creative and further appreciating and developing our student’s cooperative learning skills when working with others.  We are all in essence, artists.

"An Arts education helps build academic skills and increase academic performance, while also providing alternative opportunities to reward the skills of children who learn differently."

Gavin Newsom

We look forward to starting Semester 2, which will commence from Week 9 (27/6) through to the end of the year with our next group of classes and students.
