Snapshot Surveys

Thank you to all the parents and community members who completed our last survey on the presentation by Dr. John Bench.  Dr. Bench spoke to a group of about 60 people about Auditory Processing and the challenges that presents for children, parents, teachers and clinicians. It was the first in, what we hope can be, a series of information for parents on issues that affect their children.

The general feedback was positive with people expressing appreciation at his level of knowledge and awareness of Auditory Processing.  Most of the comments did mention, however, that the presentation was very ‘academic’ and, while respondents were grateful for the background information on APD, it was felt that there was a lack of useful strategies that can be used by parents and teachers to assist children with Auditory Processing Disorder.

Some of the main takeaways respondents reported included the importance of getting a second opinion as APD is closely aligned to ADD and ADHD.

Our next Parent Information Session is on Monday, July 31st and is being run in collaboration with Resilient Youth, Dingley Primary School and St Mark’s Primary School.  Please see the attached flyers for more information.  Click here if you would like to send me an email to register your attendance.

This week’s survey is on the the Student Led Conferences that have just taken place.
