Mental Health Self Help Tools

You might be interested in find out about the range of resources and self-help programs available including factsheets, apps, online forums and audio from some of Australia’s leading support organisations. 

 

These programs and initiatives provide advice, information, and links to further supports and services to help people deal with their mental health issues. Self-help tools can often enhance your understanding on mental health struggles, available coping strategies and treatments. They are not designed to replace other treatments, but rather assist you to better support your own mental health.

 

Looking after ourselves can be hard if we are not sure how to start. This information is a great way to begin and it might even give hope for better times ahead. 

 

Another great way to start is to cut out junk food, and eat more fruit, vegetables, legumes and whole grains! Cutting out junk food and eating more of these foods means people are less likely to develop depression.  It is all to do with the production of neurotransmitters in the gut, for the brain!
