Wellbeing MATTERS!

Dear Families,

What a great day “Bullying No Way” was last Thursday 18th March!  It was fantastic to see so many students come with their t-shirts and their messages of kindness.

A huge thank you to families for supporting this day with helping your child(ren) get organised for the day and your donation for the “Kids Helpline”.

We raised $185! It was great to see so many families having had a “conversation” about the day and specifically the kindness message that was written on the children’s shirts!

The courtyard was covered in the students’ and staff’s messages of kindness, a heartwarming sight.   Students helping one another to get their message written!

A big thank you to the PBIS student leadership team - Mia; Hazel; Amelia; Ruby and Erin - who were so helpful with the organising and running of the event.  The message they delivered about the day was clear and confident!

The following is some information you want to look at on what Bullying is and how to approach this if your child experiences this.

 What is bullying?

It’s more than just a fight or disliking someone.

It’s being mean to someone over and over again.

Bullying is an ongoing or repeated misuse of power in relationships, with the intention to cause deliberate (on purpose) psychological harm. Bullying behaviours can be verbal, physical or social.

Bullying can happen anywhere – at home, online, with friends, in a group, on the bus or at school. It can be physical, emotional, social or cyberbullying.

There are lots of reasons why someone might bully others. BUT whatever the reason, bullying is never ok.  At Sacred Heart the children’s safety is paramount!

Congratulations to Resilience Award Winner(s) -

For showing resilience during our ‘Bullying No Way’ action to complete the activities.

I hope you enjoy the few photos of the students and the recording of their kindness messages - priceless!
