PFA

The PFA is an integral part of the school community and a great way to meet other parents. The funds we raise help support school projects, teachers and students.
The PFA is where all parents have a chance to share ideas about fundraisers and ways to benefit our children and our school.
If you have any questions regarding the PFA or would like to join please email p.f.a@oatlandsps.vic.edu.au. All parents/carers are welcome to join, it’s never too late.
MOTHER’S DAY STALL
The PFA is holding its annual Mother’s Day Stall on Wednesday 5th of May.
Classes will have the opportunity to visit and buy a gift for their Mum or significant other. Gifts will be $2, $4 and $6, please make sure you send your child with small change as we do not have change to break large notes.
If there is stock left over after, we will have an extra session between 3:30pm and 4pm.
Please see the notice attached.
BREAKFAST CLUB
Dear Parents and Carers of our students at Oatlands, Prior to Covid19 and the on site restrictions our School Breakfast Club ran on Fridays with the assistance of parents and other family members of our students. We were fortunate to be able to recommence the Breakfast Club at the end of 2020 and again at beginning of this year with the assistance of our school’s ES staff. However, we have been made aware that many parents would like to be involved in this program again now that there is an easing of restrictions.
The Breakfast Club has been extended to 3 mornings a week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday) starting at 8:10am until 8:45am. Volunteers will be required to assist with setup, serving of breakfast and clean up at the conclusion of the session. If you are available to assist with Breakfast Club (Tuesday and/or Wednesday and/or Friday mornings) please email our PFA team at p.f.a@oatlandsps.vic.edu.au.
All volunteers will need to supply the office with a copy of their Working with Children’s Card and fill out both a Code of Conduct and Coronavirus Health Assessment forms before commencing. We welcome any questions or queries.
Thank you for your support.

BOOKCLUB
The best gift any parent can give a child is the love of books and the joy and benefits of independent reading for fun. Children who read at home, or are read to, have a head start on reading success in school.
Each class is participating in Scholastic Book Club this year. Up to twice a term, during the school year, the catalogues will be sent out via the classroom tubs.
You’ll find award-winning books and bestsellers, as well as old and new favourites. We recommend Book Club because the books span a wide range of children’s reading levels and interests and because they are inexpensive (some books cost as little as $2).
The other benefit of Scholastic Book Club is that our school earns 20% in Scholastic Rewards on all Book Club orders to help them obtain free books and additional learning resources.
However there is never any obligation to order.
There is no better way to encourage reading than to allow children to choose the books they want to read.
You can purchase online at www.scholastic.com.au/loop
or send the form filled out with your child’s name, class, order code and total with the correct money (as we cannot give change) to the school office in an envelope.
